Summer Menu For SLACKERs

So, let’s be honest. It’s summertime. It’s hot outside. The couch is really the only place you want to be. Where does a trip to the grocery store, or out to eat, fit in? It doesn’t! That’s why we’ve created this list of go-to summer meals that you can make with stuff you already have in your kitchen! And, well, if you don’t have this stuff in your kitchen, you should.

Pasta primavera

It sounds a lot fancier than it actually has to be. Cook up some spaghetti and steam those frozen veggies you have in the freezer. Throw it all together with some EVOO, butter, garlic and your other favorite seasonings. And, BOOM, enjoy!

Iced tea slushy

Use your blender to shred some fresh ice, pour it in a cup and add iced tea. It’s that simple, and yes, it’s delicious too.

Br”egg”fast sammy

Toast some bread, cook a couple eggs, and then add your other favorite ingredients (ideas: ham, bacon, tomato, avocado). Don’t underestimate the power of a good breakfast sandwich!

Grilled peanut butter and jelly topped with chips

After you put some potato chips (Cheetos are the best) between your PB&J, add a thin layer of butter to the outside of the sandwich. Grill it in a pan until it’s crispy on both sides. Seriously, this will become a new craving you never imagined!

Marinara for everybody

And on everything! Throw some marinara sauce in with practically any dish, and it will probably taste good. Our favorites to add marinara to are: eggs, garlic toast, pasta, grilled cheese.

Pizza toast

Toast a couple slices of bread, add some sauce, cheese, veggies and/or meat and then throw it in the oven for a few minutes (should be somewhere between 350°-400°F). It’s like homemade pizza bagels on steroids!

One-ingredient ice cream

It’s creamy, it’s sweet, it’s bananas. No, really, it’s bananas. You can make ice cream out of bananas! Here’s how.
